The Age of the Teddy Bear
They say it goes by fast. They say you blink and your baby is eighteen. When some nice enough mother was kind enough to pass this wisdom on to me when the boys were two or so months old -I had to fight back the urge to roll my eyes. Now I am that nice enough mother. I want to tell all new mothers –forget the dirty floors and hold that baby. Regrets are useful only if we allow ourselves to learn from them. Now when I see a dirty pile of dishes and my little monsters are wanting attention- I pick up the monsters and play. I do miss the little baby days. I do not however, want to waste these moments. The boys are at the age of the teddy bear. That is-they love to cuddle, they will listen to anything that I have to say. Best of all they have not learned to roll their eyes. So for as long as I can I will sit back and hold on to my two little teddy bears.
